Border Collie Rescue

Border Collies are not for everyone.   They don't have to be a working stockdog or have acres of land to run on, but they do need to have a job.  Sometimes the job is just to be a companion.  Sometimes a lucky border collie will be in a home that trains him for a canine event such as flyball, obedience, tracking, agility, or frisbee.  A Border Collie wants to be with you, even if it's just lying at your feet while you post changes to the website.  If you don't have time for a dog, try one of the stuffed ones from the toy store.

Most Border Collies who come into rescue have some problems, but they don't all have the same problem.  Often they have been neglected socially, or their basic manners are in need of review.  Here at Solarwind Ranch we try to assist them to reach their best potential.  All dogs are tested for herding ability.  All dogs are spayed or neutered before being placed.  Some dogs come with papers but others do not.  Remember that Border Collies come in a wide variety of sizes, colors, markings, coat lengths and ear sets.

Solarwind Ranch occasionally fosters border collies.  Adoptions are handled through United Animal Friends.
